Hi all! Feel free to leave any comments on my contributions at my talk page.

Strange signs in the signature

In my signature (machᵗᵃˡᵏ👍), there is a Unicode 6.0.0 sign, U+1F44D THUMBS UP SIGN «👍». At this moments, your normal OS will not have any preinstalled font with this sign. For a correct display, you will need to manually install a font that features the sign, for instance George Douros's splendid free font Symbola version 6.02, available from his site at Unicode Fonts for Ancient Scripts – check it out, there are plenty of fun signs (including some indecent ones)!

About me

My main interests are in linguistics, especially in phonetics.

I live in the city of Berne in Switzerland, and so I speak the Alemannic dialect of Berne: Bernese German, which has the rare feature among Germanic languages that consonant and vowel length are independent from each other.
