"a zone is not a running kernel"

This statement is a little odd. An application in a zone that makes a syscall is making a call directly into a running kernel, just as it is in the global zone.

What is true is that each zone does not have its own dedicated kernel, but I think the conclusion, that "some limitations may be found," needs to be expounded upon, and probably completely reworded.--NapoliRoma 21:41, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oracle Solaris 11, "lx" Brandz Linux zone removed from Solaris 11 Express.

Support for lx, brandz Linux zones has been removed from Solaris 11 Express, See Oracle Solaris 11 Express Release Notes, pg. 37,

"Support for the lx branded zone has been removed in this Oracle Solaris release. Support for the lx brand will continue in the Oracle Solaris 10 releases."
