Wikipedia:Developers

Wikipedia developers have SSH access to the servers. They can change the live copy of MediaWiki, change article histories, read server logs, create sysops, etc. Developers have great power but are trusted not to confuse this with higher authority.

The exception is Jimbo Wales, who really does have higher authority. Jimbo legally controls the servers, so he is ultimately responsible for determining who has developer access. On a day-to-day basis, Brion Vibber manages the server accounts.

The following developers are active with the project, and have also been known to use their power for administrative purposes, such as creating sysops:
