Michael Barr (software engineer)

Michael Barr is a software engineer, consultant, and author, specializing in embedded systems.[1] He is a past Editor-in-Chief of Embedded Systems Programming magazine.[2] Barr authored the book Programming Embedded Systems in C and C++, and co-authored (with Jack Ganssle) the Embedded Systems Dictionary.[citation needed] He also wrote the book "Embedded C Coding Standard".
Michael Barr has appeared on PBS’ American Business Review,[3] and been quoted in various newspapers. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Embedded Systems Conference. He is currently president of engineering services firm Netrino.
Michael Barr studied electrical engineering at the University of Maryland in College Park, from which he was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in 1994 and a Master of Science degree in 1997. He later taught ENEE 447 Operating Systems Theory as an adjunct faculty in the same Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.[citation needed] In 2006 Michael came back to University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business and received an MBA.
