NM Institute Of Engineering and Technology (NMIET), Bhubaneswar is a technical institute under Biju Pattnaik University Of Technology, ORISSA. Since its establishment in the year 2004, it has evolved as the fastest growing technical college of Orissa. It is an ISO 9001 : 2001 Certified Institute.

Computer Science NMIET

CSE department of NMIET has shown outstanding performance in every field of computers. NMIET is the first college of Orissa to launch Network Analysis & Ethical Hacking programme: NM Certified Security Professionals.

The first BPUT students website was created by 1st yr students of NMIET.

NMIET is the first college of Orissa to start up a research and development cell providing facilities like advanced programming, computer security,complex algorithm analysis,cryptography and encryption technology. Various experts in the field including Ankit Fadia have delivered lectures at NMIET.

BPUTAlert (the mobile alert system) portal for BPUT is being developed by the students of CSE NMIET.

The social nonprofit organization (NGO) , N.E.H.A (National Ethical Hackers Association), which spreads awareness on cyber security among the mass. The organization has more than 2000 members all over the India.

Students of the CSE branch has developed a college online interactive portal (www.insidenm.com), where students can get online lectures, assignments, interactive sessions, rating and many more.

The CSE students of NMIET are official Microsoft Student Partners.

Innovate7 technologies (www.innovate7.com) is software company which was founded by the students of CSE NMIET in their 2nd year in 2007, which is now running successfully and is having more than 300 employee all over India.

MECHANICAL BRANCH

Since the inception, the institution is attuned to the core discipline, Mechanical Eng. which is the most challenging profession through its commitment and efficiency in teaching, the research and services. The sole strength of the department is its dynamic and dedicated faculty members selected through rigorous selection procedure and from different background. The faculty have shown ability to agility to introduce innovative pedagogy and new curriculum to meet the changing needs of the present day society. The department nurtures a mind of ever changing challenges of modern-day industry and its commitments to produce potential mechanical engineers fully aware of tasks ahead. There is well-ventilated and full-fledged independent workshop of sprawling area of 5000 sq ft. It consists of different sections like Carpenting, Smithy, Welding & Machinery. The Machine section has 10 centre Lathes universal milling M/C, Shapping M/C, Planner, Drilling M/C, Power saw, Tool cutter, Grinder equipments etc. The Workshop has recently produced the most advanced TIG and MIG welding M/Cs to its credit .
