Liquid Icon Inc. is a sunglass company that was founded by Ken Wilson in October 2002. The company began by private labeling sunglasses for former front man of Van Halen, Sammy Hagar. The companies founder Ken Wilson was a friend of Hagar and had previously done business through another company that Wilson had founded back in 1987 called Gatorz. Gatorz produced sunglasses called Red Rockers in 1991 for Hagar and later made glasses for other celebrities. When the founder of Gatorz was forced out by a hostile take over, Wilson started another company called Liquid and relied on old business friends to start the company. Wilson was not under a non-compete with Gatorz and was free to conduct a new company. Sammy Hagar made a deal with Liquid to introduce a line of sunglasses called "Cabo Wabo" Eyewear that was made out of aluminum. The glasses were designed without hinges to stay on the performers head while playing concerts and were light weight aluminum only weighing 29 grams. The company today still makes the same sunglasses that were originally called Cabo Wabo under the names Liquid Player and Gasket. Liquid Icon, Inc. also known as Liquid Eyewear manufactures all of its eyewear products in the USA. You can visit the Liquid website at www.LiquidPolarized.com
