I mikeagauvin am the author of this page and I used the Solidworks software page as a template for this one. I am not trying to promote the product as much as I am trying to have people looking up this type of software know the basics about it. Thus I added the hangon qualifier. Let me know what I need to do in terms of a rewrite or where I am out of bounds and I would be glad if other authoris would either rewrite it or allow me to do the rewrite.

OK, we'll call off the speedy delete for now. The problem is that the article reads like it is promoting the software. I can help with some of the re-writing, but I don't know anything about the software so you'll have to do the bulk of the work. Try to find some references from independent, reliable sources that talk about the software. That helps to establish its notability, which is a big deal at Wikipedia. Let me know if you need help. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 01:28, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have revised the page to note that it is commercial software, to add references from external and internal sources which are Laser Focus world articles as requested. I have also edited information to feature notes to other Wikipedia pages in particular the downhill simplex method used in the optimization and fiber coupling. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mikeagauvin (talkcontribs) 18:06, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Much, much better! Minor wikifying appears to be all that's needed now. Great work! - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 02:31, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
