All of the metro stations, excluding the Komunarivs'ka, are located deeply underground and are constructed and designed in the typical ex-Soviet palace style.
Currently the metro trains in use by the system, carry about 3 to 4 train cars.
Future Plans
There are three stations are currently under construction, starting from the Vokzal'na station, to the city center: the Teatral'na station (nearly the Teatre of Opera and Ballet), the Tsentral'na station, and the Muzeyna station (another variant of the name is Zhovtneva Ploshcha). The construction is expected to end in 2008. The stations Tsentral'na and Muzeyna are expected to be in operation sometime after 2008.
After the additions to the first line, the total length of first line is expected to be 11.82 km., with 9 stations. A second line is planned to cross the Dnieper River. A perspective of the Dnepropetrivsk Metro system is to have 80 km. of track within 3 different metro lines.
