Primary Leadership Development Course is the first course of study that must be attended by an Army Non-Commissioned Officer,usually a Corporal or Sergeant.Sometimes a Specialist (E4) being groomed for promotion will be sent to PLDC.

The course of study in non specific to the soldiers Military Occupational Specialty and includes Leadership,Problem Solving,Counseling,Human Nature,Map Reading,Drill and Ceremony,and other skills.The course will include a field exercise with hands-on.

PLDC is very valuable in making NCOs.This Wikipedian's roommate at PLDC at Fort Benning was a clarinet player in an Army Band,and didn't know what a blank adapter was.
