A Scanning Mobility Particle Sizer (abbreviated: SMPS) is a spectrometer and can measure particles from some nm to 1000 nm. The particles that are investigated can be of biological or chemical nature. The spectrometer can be appplied in situations like: air quality measurement indoors, vehicle exhaust pipes, research in bio aerosols, atmospheric studies, toxicology testing, etc.
