OASIS Model

OASIS stands for Open Architecture System Integration Strategy, and is one of the most important concepts of Apple's MacOS operating system (at least up to MacOS 9.x). It is a clearly separated model of various stratas, where each strata has clearly-defined interfaces to the next. It describes the rules for interaction between Application, User Interface, Toolbox (APIs), Operating System and Hardware.
