Misclassified articles

Articles are regularly being misclassified into the user interface techniques category, especially articles about:

  • Design methodologies
  • HCI theories
  • Software architectures
  • Specific computer applications

In order to avoid the need for regular clean-ups I've created an article to clarify the concept of user interface technique as it is currently understood by a vast majority of researchers and practitioners in human-computer interaction.

I've decided to name the article interaction technique instead of user interface technique because it's a more commonly used term. The latter seems to be more common in patent documents, if you do a Google Scholar search.

This article inevitably reflects my own view of the concept. Other HCI researchers are very welcome to iterate over it and add more references.
