Tagging
Tagging has begun today, I am removing WP:Malware and CCISTF tags, and replacing them with ours. For the moment, we will be taking on the responsibilities of both. Sephiroth storm (talk) 14:53, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
- Before we start taking on these tasks, we should probably just call on a bot to move them all. Ask Tinu Cherian .. he has the bot for his account to take care of it. blurpeace (talk - contributions) 19:14, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
Weird errors
I see this weird message all over the project's main page: ?UNIQ77d749371f048a99-h-1--QINU?
Either there was a vandal attack or something is wrong with your codes. --Tyw7 (Talk • Contributions) Changing the world one edit at a time! 07:56, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
- Don't ask me why or how, but it's the inclusion of the Special:RecentChangesLinked template that's causing it. --DanielPharos (talk) 11:33, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
- Then remove it! Tyw7 (Talk • Contributions) Changing the world one edit at a time! 13:18, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
- But the recent changes section is such a nice thing to have! Plus, it shouldn't be causing these kinds of problems, thus I think something deeper in the code must be wrong, something with the recent changes page itself. I suspect other wikiprojects that use this are also having trouble with it, and it will be fixed soon. So simply removing it wouldn't be a good solution. Plus, it worked fine in the past, and nothing has changed on "our end". --DanielPharos (talk) 13:44, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
- I have Recent changes on my WIkiProject. However, there is no code showing up: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Software --Tyw7 (Talk • Contributions) Changing the world one edit at a time! 15:32, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

- Could have something to do with this: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/QINU_fix, beyond my area of expertise. Unless we have any code monkey's here, might need to ask on the helpdesk or ask an admin for assistance. Sephiroth storm (talk)
- Sephiroth, why did you change the Recent Changes list to the Software one? Also, I don't think we have a code-monkey around, and this seems to be more wide-spread that just this project. I guess somebody should notify the helpdesk/admins. --DanielPharos (talk) 12:30, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
There is an easy fix. Remove all ==/== and ===/=== codes. Replace ==/== with
<big>'''text'''</big>
----
and ===/=== with <big>'''text'''</big>, which seems to produce the same affect without the error codes. --Tyw7 (Talk • Contributions) Changing the world one edit at a time! 14:46, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
- VPTech suggested it: [1] Sephiroth storm (talk) 18:36, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
- I changed to another (slightly less relevant) Recent Changes page, fixing the problem. --DanielPharos (talk) 21:46, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
- Another way to fix this problem is if you put the templete on a double transclusion. For example transcluding the troblesome transclusion on a page and transluding that page. --Tyw7 (Talk • Contributions) Changing the world one edit at a time! 03:51, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
- Either I've did it wrong, or it didn't work. Anyways, I've commented out the Recent Changes part. I guess we'll have to wait till it works properly again. --DanielPharos (talk) 12:19, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
- I could have sworn this was fixed. Sephiroth storm (talk) 00:01, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
- Me too. I put it back in about two days ago, and it seemed to work. But now it's broken again. *sigh* Taking it out again... --DanielPharos (talk) 11:01, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

Assistance requested
Shon Harris is up for deletion. I would like some assistance in improving the article. Difficulty is finding third party references. Most hits are either articles by her, or book listings. Sephiroth storm (talk) 14:46, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
WP 1.0 bot announcement
This message is being sent to each WikiProject that participates in the WP 1.0 assessment system. On Saturday, January 23, 2010, the WP 1.0 bot will be upgraded. Your project does not need to take any action, but the appearance of your project's summary table will change. The upgrade will make many new, optional features available to all WikiProjects. Additional information is available at the WP 1.0 project homepage. — Carl (CBM · talk) 03:10, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

Unreferenced living people articles bot
User:DASHBot/Wikiprojects provides a list, updated daily, of unreferenced living people articles (BLPs) related to your project. There has been a lot of discussion recently about deleting these unreferenced articles, so it is important that these articles are referenced.
The unreferenced articles related to your project can be found at >>>Wikipedia:WikiProject Computer security/Archive 1/Unreferenced BLPs<<<
If you do not want this wikiproject to participate, please add your project name to this list.
Thank you.
- Update: Wikipedia:WikiProject Computer security/Archive 1/Unreferenced BLPs has been created. This list, which is updated by User:DASHBot/Wikiprojects daily, will allow your wikiproject to quickly identify unreferenced living person articles.
- There maybe no or few articles on this new Unreferenced BLPs page. To increase the overall number of articles in your project with another bot, you can sign up for User:Xenobot_Mk_V#Instructions.
- If you have any questions or concerns, visit User talk:DASHBot/Wikiprojects. Okip 01:12, 28 March 2010 (UTC)
Help
I can't figure out how to add my name to that little list thingy. S*T*A*R*B*O*X (talk) 00:51, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
NVM, I did it. S*T*A*R*B*O*X (talk) 00:53, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
Possible resource
I am the maintainer of the Archive of Information Assurance website ( http://iaarchive.fi .org and .info also forward to it) and I have on that site a collect of documents on applying TCSEC within a database enviroment (see books -> Trusted DBMS Interpretation) This is one of many collections of papers I am in the process of scanning and otherwise getting ready for publication. I think that updating at least the TCSEC pages with some examples of TCSEC applied to a complex system such as this might be of use, but I honestly am not a writer, and I have no clue what is the best way to do that. I had enough trouble going through and fixing all the dead rainbow series links, and adding links for all of my collection that was not there. (I'd be best at collecting the information no one else seems to know how to, and providing a critical mind for analysis of system design. I know many of the documents on my site are not great quality, there are a lot of scanning artifacts and missing OCR, but I am working to improve upon it.)Section9 Bateau (talk) 19:01, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
This is to notify members of this WikiProject, within which scope this article falls, that Kane karu, has been listed for deletion. Editors interested in the deletion discussion, are invited to participate by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kane karu. Thank you. - Removed from wikiproject due to lack of relevance. Thanks for pointing this page out. (Also, I voted.) --DanielPharos (talk) 23:41, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
Project scope
I was thinking about attaching myself to this project, but wanted to check the scope. Some people view security as being mostly issues of malware and viruses. Others might view it as software used for security. Still others might view it as things like OWASP and PCI. Do any/all of these fit what the project is trying to do? AliveFreeHappy (talk) 23:23, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
- All of the above :) Everything directly related to information security in the computing world automatically falls inside the scope of this wikiproject. --DanielPharos (talk) 09:19, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
Thanks - I do believe I'll add myself to the list and see what I can do as time permits. AliveFreeHappy (talk) 16:43, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you and welcome, what is your area of experience/expertise? Sephiroth storm (talk) 23:59, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
