Accelerated frames are extremely useful in many spacetimes, including Minkowski vacuum and also various curved spacetimes. Also, frames are a coordinate-free concept and can be written in various coordinate charts. Thus one has the Rindler frame (on part of Mink) which can be expressed in various charts; see Rindler coordinates-Bell's spaceship paradox.
