What the stop button does

  • This (editing the talk page) STOPs the AWB process if it is running or next time it tries to run and alerts me.
  • This applies even if you make a mistake and revert your edit. Also if someone vandalises the page and you revert the vandal. This can mean the bot gets stopped twice.
  • Once I have logged in as SmackBot and viewed the page it is my discretion whether to run the process or not.
  • Some of the messages I get left are things like the word "Moooooo!" so this a good thing.
  • Moreover SmackBot runs multiple tasks, so a problem with one might not be a problem with the others.
