List of packages

I do not think that an encyclopedia should aspire to become a sort of Yellow Pages: that type of content is very volatile and hardly encyclopedic. Since there is no clear criterion for putting a package on the list here (if I write my own package, can I also get my software on that list?), the current list remains a haphazard collection of packages of unclear relevance that may or may not be complete. In that case, the user is far better off with just searching Google or relevant mailing lists and websites for leads. Also, the list is not necessary at all to tell the reader something about DPD as a simulation method, and it remains entirely unclear what the relevance of the package list section is. I would therefore again propose to delete the list of packages from this article, even though I've tried to extend it to make it somewhat more complete (and therefore better balanced). 132.229.236.93 (talk) 14:37, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
