Pedram Javaheri also know as "P.J. Javaheri" (born May 24, 1983) is an Iranian-American Meteorologist for CNN International based at the CNN World Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. He can be seen regularly on editions of ‘World Report’.


Background

Javaheri was born in Tehran, Iran to Turkish and Iranian parents and is fluent in Farsi, Turkish and English. His family relocated from Tehran to Redmond, Washington in 1993. He attended Arizona State University and Mississippi State University where he obtained degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Meteorology.

Broadcasting Career

Javaheri's career in journalism started in [[Utah] at KCSG where he held the position of Chief Meteorologist. He later forecasted for KCOY,KKFX,KION and KCBA in Central California. [1] During his time in California, his work was nominated for an EMMY for "outstanding achievement in weather" at the San Francisco / Northern California Emmy Awards.[2] He joined CNN in June of 2010 and now resides in Atlanta. Javaheri was recently honored the "Iranian of the Day," by an Iranian organization.[3]
