The "Conversion script" was the script which converted Wikipedia from usemod format to the phase II format. This conversion occurred on 25 January 2002. However, most of the edits by the script are dated in February 2002 because of an early database glitch. Originally, no history from any of the articles could be seen from before the conversion occurred — most of the articles (except for a few, such as the September 11 attacks) which existed before phase II appeared to have been started by the conversion script. In September 2002, Brion Vibber managed to extract most history from usemod and added it to the database. However, the conversion script entries in history remained, in most cases appearing to perform whatever was the last edit prior to the conversion.
