Advances in Electrical and Computer Engineering was founded in 2001. It is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the Romanian Academy of Technical Sciences and the Ştefan cel Mare University of Suceava, Romania. The journal is indexed and abstracted in Science Citation Index and the Journal Citation Reports. As of 2010^[update], the journal's editor in chief is Adrian Graur, Rector of the Stefan cel Mare University of Suceava.

The journal publishes original scientific articles and reviews. The principal aim of the journal is to bring together the latest research and development in various fields of science and technology such as computer science, artificial intelligence, pattern recognition, knowledge engineering, process control theory and applications, distributed systems and computer networks, electronics, communications, data transmission, software engineering, energy conversion, electrotechnics, electric machines modeling and design, control of electric drive systems, non-conventional energy conversion, sensors, transducers modeling and design, electro-physics, and nanotechnology.

Selected papers presented at the International Conference on Development and Application Systems Conference are published in this journal.
