Retro Force is a Shoot-'em up game that is created and published by Psygnosis Ltd. It is set to be based in the future where 4 brave pilots must travel back in time in order to bring back the lost pieces of the holy artefact, Retro Force was released on March 1999 which is only released in Europe, The soundtrack to the game was composed By Gary Mckill.

Plot

Gameplay

In Retro Force, you get to play as one of the four members of Retro Force, you can get to choose either Paris, Hawtin, Pi, or Sinclair whatever suits your skill, but they each have their own aerial attributes, with your chosen character, you then have to shoot down your enemies from the sky and from the ground, you'll get to earn points by shooting down the enemies. And also, you get to collect Bonus crystals, the more bonus crystals you collect, the bigger the score, and of course keep an eye on the super crystals, they hide in hard to reach places and in secret hiding places.

Weapons

Pulser

A pulse beam that can shoot down invaders from the sky, it is best used in small strategic bursts to take down wave attacks in your path.

Fan Fire

This weapon spews out balls of red hot flame at several different angles and engulfs the enemy craft at the span of up to 45°.

Ioniser

A particle beam that can be used for attacking enemies in front of you, it's best used in hard to reach places.

Bombs

Devestator

A bomb that has a small explosion radius, it's best used in rapid bursts, with quick reload capacity and launch rate.

Pulverisor

The Pulverisor is the weapon that can wipe out more than one ground-based enemy at a time, Its large radius of destruction makes up for its slow reload and launch rate.

Disruptor

A Prototype weapon that fires shock-beams directly down onto the enemy, you can zap them off the landscape.

A weapon that can wipe out anything in your path.

Story

The story is taken place on 29th of November 2999 where the invasion starts and the Millennium celebration began to a halt, a giant UFO came towards the temple called the Commune of Worship which is home to the Holy Artefact, as the sirens blare at Combat Air Defence Academy(CADA), Retro Force battle out the UFO to stop them from taking the Holy Artefact, but they were too late as the final piece of the Holy Artefact combined with the rest, powers were unleashed leaving Retro force and the UFO disappear back through time.

Characters

Paris Tetsuo

Paris is a 19 year old female pilot and she's the leader of Retro Force, she has world famous ancestors that is known as the Anti Gravity F3600 league legend Arian Tetsuo, the piloting comes naturally to her, Paris has passed her Pilot's Proficiency license at the age of 11, her graduation class that she have passed is a distinction with extended honours, and her mission is to defend the city and its immediate perimeters.

Hawtin Raydar

Hawtin is a 15 year old boy who was raised as a believer of the Commune of Worship, when he was 12, he maintains the temple all his life with his family in order to strictly believe in the prophecy - which would predict great disaster for the city from invaders from the sky, this did not appeal to him, all he was interested was flying through the sky in deadly combat, because of the lack of concern and lost interest in the prophecy, he was exiled from the Commune of Worship, after that, his father Juryeff Raydar branded his son a non-Believer and Hawtin's family never talked to him again, Hawtin was Ex-communicated from the family for too long, but until then, Hawtin went AWOL to join CADA and has progressed to become the youngest pilot ever to graduate, with his determination to heroically save the city form chaos may one day make his family change their minds about him, he passed his graduation class with a distinction with Honours, and his mission is to defend the city and its immediate perimeters.

Pi

Pi is a 12 year old cat like creature that was genetically breaded by the boffins at the World Health Independent Research Laboratories(W.H.I.R.L) for the Millennium 3 Space Launch Programme(M3SLP). But then M3SLP ran into financial difficulties, he was released to join CADA, he has a flair of sensing danger ahead, he has passed a Graduation Class with a Distinction and his mission is to defend the city and its immediate perimeters.

Sinclair Mk.009.4c

Sinclair is a robot that is designed and programmed for flying and Combat skills like the rest of the team, he is updated every 6 months to ensure that his co-pilots improve their skills, but his team remains balanced, he is fitted with Neuro-net technology, Sinclair's combat intelligence and mental agility are second to none, his graduation class is Not applicable, but his main responsibility is to defend Retro Force, so basically, they call him the "Babysitter".

Antagonists

Kyati

Kyati is the main Antagonist of the game, he has first invaded the city in order to steal the holy artefact with the help of his reinforcements, as he stole the artefact, he used the power of the holy artefact to rip through time, but as he puts the pieces of the artefact together he can rip through time in order to use its power for total destruction, as he puts the pieces together, he'll use that power to become unstoppable. But he'd better be pre-warned that Retro Force would interfere with his evil plans.
