Awadhesh Pratap Singh

Captain Kunwar Awadesh Pratap Singh was a renowned Indian freedom fighter. He was born in October 1888. He was a member of Congress (Madhya Pradesh), the Constituent Assembly, the Provisional Parliament and of the Rajya Sabha between 1952 and 1960. He became the Prime Minister of Rewa State in 1948 and the Chief Minister of Vindhya Pradesh in 1949. Kunwar Awadhesh was married to Maharaj Kumari and had one son and one daughter of this marriage. He died on 16 June 1967 in Kanpur. The state of Madhya Pradesh in Indian has a University named after him.
