Advanced Composite Materials is a quarterly peer reviewed scientific journal, which was established in 1991. It is published by VSP on behalf of the Japan Society for Composite Materials and the Korean Society for Composite Materials. The editors in chief are H. Fukunaga (Sendai, Japan) and K.S. Han (Seoul, Korea).[1] The journal covers all scientific and technological aspects of composite materials and composite material structures,[1] including physical, chemical, mechanical, and other properties of advanced composites as well as microscopic to macroscopic behavior studied both experimentally and theoretically. Novel fabrication techniques for composites and composite structural components are also included.
In addition to original research papers, the journal publishes technical papers, review papers, and research notes. As with other scientific journals, news accounts related to new materials and their processing are also included. In addition, some papers originally published in Japanese in the Journal of the Japan Society for Composite Materials are translated and published in this journal.[1]

According to the 2008 Journal Citation Reports, Advanced Composite Materials has an impact factor of 0.404.[1] In 2006 Journal Citations Report for 2006 ranked Advanced Composite Materials with an Impact Factor of 0.265. [2]
