Bach's algorithm is an efficient algorithm for generating random factored numbers. Bach's algorithm is named after its discoverer, Eric Bach. The alrogithm is of interest because the straightforward method for generating a random factored number, namely generating a random number and then factoring it, is not known to be efficient, because no algorithm is known that efficiently factors numbers. Bach's algorithm is capable of generating random numbers along with their factorization efficiently.
