The GNU Interpreter for Java (GIJ) is a Java bytecode interpreter for the Java programming language. It is part of the free software GNU Compiler for Java (GCJ). GCJ is the compiler counterpart to GIJ.

Please note that gcc-java version 3.4.4-1 is broken. Using GIJ causes a Segmentation fault. A workaround is to downgrade to version 3.3.3-3.
