ICIM (Inclusive composite interval mapping) is a widely used algorithm in QTL Mapping research area. QTL Mapping is a branch in Quantitative Genetics.

I do know why it is considered to be unambiguous advertising or promotion. Maybe it is a little academic, but it is a good algorithm.

Please take a look into Process Of NAM and Current use of NAM sections in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nested_association_mapping. Nested_association_mapping also uses ICIM (Inclusive composite interval mapping) algorithm.
