Scouting and Guiding in Namibia
Appearance
The Scout and Guide movement in Namibia is served by
- The Girl Guides Association of Namibia, member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts
- Scouts of Namibia, member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement
- Deutscher Pfadfinderbund Namibia (German Scout Association of Namibia, formerly Deutscher Pfadfinderbund Südwestafrika, the German Scout Association of South-West Africa), a small association open mainly to boys and girls of German descent
The first German oriented Scouting organization was founded in 1928, but was twice forbidden by the South African administration until World War II. The actual association was founded after World War II. In 2010, there were three groups across the country.[1]
