ERA's PERSONAL BIO

Talent can be defined in a myriad of ways. It can be a natural gift or a learned proficiency, but rarely, however in Evan Ackerman's case, a potent mixture of both. ERA's destiny was solidified growing up around music, as his father was a well-known guitar player, playing and opening up for bands such as Stevie Ray Vaughn.

Evan, who started playing drums at the early age of 5, made his way to such instruments as the guitar, bass, piano and drums. To this day, it is the natural ability, starting from the age of 5 to put down intense beats, catchy hooks along with crispy, hard-hitting 808 bass lines with a touch of rythmic change and chord progression to each well-crafted beat. ERA is known to create thick and textured sounds that take some producers years to perfect. This musical prodigy is very admirable as he's always pushing the boundaries, taking music to a new abstract form. ERA has the natural ability to pour passion and conviction in any work he does.

Influenced from classic bands such asEarth, Wind and Fire, Jimmy Hendrix and The Beatles, ERA Productions has the ability mix in a sophisticated sound with an innovative and expressive sound, being influenced by producers of this age such as Award-Winning Three 6 Mafia (Juicy J and DJ Paul) and Jim Jonsin. It is this unique blend of modern day hip-hop and classic rock sounds, that create's a sound to draw in today's biggest artist's. ERA has worked for such aritist's such as the east coast's known Godzend, who is credited with best hip-hop song of the year, and Tonestar who have performed with Gorilla Zoe,Plies, Beanie Man and Keri Hilson. And the West Coast's own "DRO" from Watts, Russell Simmons' new artist.

ERA's multi-talent is one of the many factor's that seperate him from the mainstream. His soul is soaked in classic hits tied to modern day hip hop which creates a deadly combination in the music game. He plays with this dichotomy of classics and current trends to concoct sophisticated arrangements that fuse the arrogance of hip-hop with a hint of rock, pop and house music. ERA Productions is known for making diverse beats in the rap and hip-hop game but also known for creating pop and house beats as well. He's as authentic as a creative artist can be, reading music with an educated ear while possesing the ability to instantly recognize the correct key. In addition to a learned knowledge, there is a burning desire he inherently possesses to win and maintain respect.
