Australian Design Rules
Appearance
The Australian Design Rules (ADRs) are national Australian standards for vehicle safety, anti-theft system and emission standards.[1] They have been acclaimed as less arbitrary than those of other countries, and successfully prevented the importation of many dangerous Japanese imports over the years.[2] On the other hand, they also made importation of some inherently safe cars like the 1st generation Volkswagen Golf GTI prohibitive.[3]
