"Advanced Persistent Threat" (APT) is a term used in the computer security community to refer to the entity or entities behine a long-term pattern of targeted sophisticated computer security breaches aimed at Western companies and polical activists. The groups involved in the APT have been alleged by numerous sources to be affiliated with, or agents of, nation-states. [1] [2] [3]
