Indenting can help improve the layout of a discussion, making it much easier to read. You should always indent your reply one level deeper than the person you are replying to. The best way to indent is to place a colon (:) at the beginning of a line. The more colons you use, the further indented the text will be:

This is aligned all the way to the left.

This is indented slightly.
This is indented more.

(The colons will not show up on the page itself, just while editing.)


To create a list, use an asterisk (*) after the last colon (:) to create a bullet point (•) for that line.

  • First list item
  • Second list item
  • Sub-list item under second
  • Third list item
