Most of these programs for Mozilla Firefox should also work for the Mozilla and SeaMonkey browser series.
- wikEd, a full-featured in-browser text editor that adds enhanced text processing functions to Wikipedia and other MediaWiki edit pages. Features include wikicode syntax highlighting, regular expression search and replace, and MS Word / HTML to wikicode conversion.
- Comfortable editing functions
- Wikipedia Mashup - embeds links on any web page (even outside Wikipedia) to more commonly read Wikipedia articles. Includes the MashLogic platform for running other kinds of mashups.
- FoxClocks - the FoxClocks extension allows you to have one or more customized clocks displayed in the status bar or toolbar of the Firefox browser. Helpful to have one set to UTC/Wikipedia time, and/or to the time zone of frequent collaborators.
- Gnosis - the Gnosis extension automatically analyzes the Wikipedia page you are browsing and locates people, places, companies, organizations and other entities contained on the page. Each is underlined and additional searches in Wikipedia and other resources can be launched automatically.
- Googlepedia [1] - a Firefox extension that presents Wikipedia articles side by side with Google searches.
- Greasemonkey
- For Greasemonkey user scripts, see Greasemonkey scripts.
- Picture Popups - enlarge images in place, or open them in HTML popups inside the page - no new windows opened.
- Link Complete - auto-complete links to articles in the edit box by pressing tab or ctrl-space.
- Citation and bibliography:
- Cite4Wiki – extension that generates cite format citations for any page currently being viewed. Author: Unit 5.
- WPCITE – an extension by Jehochman et al. that generates cite format citations for whatever is page currently being viewed. Version 3.5.x of Firefox unsupported, but works perfectly if
<em:maxVersion>
of the "install.rdf" file within the install package is changed to 3.5.x. - Zotero - a reference and bibliography extension. Can generate citations in many different formats, including Wikpedia's own cite templates.
- Search enhancements:
- Auto Complete - Adds an auto-complete dropdown to the search input in the navigation bar on the left.
- Highlight searching
- Search Box - Search and replace in the editbox. Supports regular expressions.
- Search within Textarea Extension with regex

- Wiki Quicksearchers - You will need to import this file into your bookmarks file. By Sceptre.
- URL shortcut – allows typing of "wp" followed by the Wikipedia page name to load that page. If the page doesn't exist, a search is performed.

- Wikipedia Bilingual - a Firefox extension which displays a Wikipedia article in 2 of the languages in which it is available, side by side (for example, Russian and Spanish).
- Over 500 common templates in HTML format.
