LPIC stand for Linux Professional Institute Certification. Each level requires successful completion of two exams for certification.
Junior Level Administration (LPIC-1)

To be awarded LPIC level 1 the candidate must successfully past two exams, 101 and 102. These can be taken in any order.
Previously the 101 exam was split into two alternative exams, one including questions on the RPM Package Manager, and the other on Deb (file format). After the update in 2005 these have now been merged into a single exam, and candidates are expected to know about both these.
Objectives:
Work at the command line.
Perform easy maintenance tasks.
Install and configure a workstation and connect it to a network.
Intermediate Level Administration (LPIC-2)

To be awarded LPIC level 2 the candidate must successfully past two exams, 201 and 202. These can be taken in any order, but the candidate must have LPIC-1 before taking the exams.
Objectives:
Administer a small to medium-sized site containing Microsoft and Linux servers.
Supervise assistants.
Advise upper manangement.
Senior Level Administration (LPIC-3)
