A flow-restricted, oxygen-powered ventilation device (FROPVD), also referred to as a manually triggered ventilation device (MTV) is mainly used to assist ventilation in apneic or hypoventilating patients although these devices can also be used to provide supplemental oxygen to breathing patents.
