Simple username changes

This page hosts simple requests for a username change across the Wikimedia network. Requests are processed by stewards and global renamers.

Instructions
  1. Read Wikipedia:Changing username carefully. You must be aware of and understand all the implications of changing your username. Specifically:
    • Your name will be changed to the new one in the page history of every page you've edited, and in all log entries.
    • Your user pages, account preferences, and edits will be moved to the new name. Please do not create a new account or attempt to move them yourself.
    • Links left by your previous signatures will still point to the old userpage; however, a redirect will be created pointing to your new userpage.
    • Understand that using your real name as your username may put you at risk of harassment.
  2. Read the username policy and ensure your new name does not violate it. Usernames must not:
  3. Check that your new username is not already in use by searching for it on Special:CentralAuth. If the name is registered, even on another Wikimedia project, it is taken.
If the target name hasn't made any edits to any Wikimedia project, you may request usurpation at meta:Steward requests/Username changes.
  4. Log in with your current username. Requests will not be approved if the requester is not logged in.
  5. Place your request here.
    • Add your desired username after NEW=.
    • Add a reason for the change after REASON=. Requests without a valid reason will not be approved.
    • Do not change anything else.
  6. Select Publish changes.
  7. Check back on this page periodically to answer any inquiries regarding your request. Consider watching the page so you can monitor updates. Requests may be closed if there are unresolved queries.

Requests that do not follow these instructions or that are grossly malformed are subject to removal.

For stewards, global renamers, and clerks

Only stewards and global renamers have the authority to approve or decline requests. Requests are automatically clerked by a bot, but occasionally human intervention is required, particularly for malformed requests. If you would like to help out with clerking, please see Wikipedia:Changing username/Assistance.

Current requests

judwa.nayaka → judwa.nayak

Clerk note: As SoxBot told you, the target username exists, though it meets the criteria for usurpation. However, your account is too new to usurp another one. In order to ensure that usurped usernames be put to good use, we prefer only to grant requests from reasonably well-established users. Is there another name, not listed at Special:ListUsers, that you would prefer? @Kate (parlez) 17:27, 12 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Is it possible that Judwa.nayak is him too and he just forgot his password? Both names were registered on the same day, so it would be a pretty big coincidence if they were different people. -- Soap Talk/Contributions 21:17, 12 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Richard Isay → Psyche3458

Bureaucrat note: - the rename is technically possible and we take all privacy requests very seriously, but I do note that you have made a considerable number of edits to an article about yourself. Are you aware of editing within WP:COI? The Rambling Man (talk) 16:54, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Not done no response in a week. The Rambling Man (talk) 20:04, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rishko → YellowElm

Bureaucrat note: I see you were blocked last year for "image violations". You took a long break then came back, uploading images again. Can you confirm that you will be providing correct rationales for the images you upload and this rename is not simply an opportunity to avoid scrutiny as a once-blocked editor? The Rambling Man (talk) 17:00, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Not done no response in a week. The Rambling Man (talk) 20:05, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Richard Isay → Psyche3458

Bureaucrat note: This is a repeat request. Please read the question at the original request and respond accordingly. Cheers. The Rambling Man (talk) 01:13, 20 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Magicmillan → Dusterbragg

Bureaucrat note: sorry to be difficult but your username doesn't appear to need "privacy" and it has zero GFDL edits, so if you wanted to continue with the new name, just register it and discard the old account. If you have something more personal to discuss, then feel free to email me, or any of the other 'crats here. The Rambling Man (talk) 22:24, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Done I've gone ahead and completed the rename. I appreciate what you're saying, TRM, but I figure that renames are cheap and if the user feels that the username somehow compromises their privacy (even if it's a matter of pseudonymous privacy), we may as well fill the request. —Anonymous DissidentTalk 02:58, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. I gave the editor the option of emailing me, but anyways, no problem with you fulfilling the request. The Rambling Man (talk) 14:16, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Janine25 → Elevatore293

Bureaucrat note: You could always change your password? The Rambling Man (talk) 16:14, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Kellymckean → KellyMcKean

Bureaucrat note: Are you aware of (and comfortable with) the potential implications associated with using a real name? The Rambling Man (talk) 17:42, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

NWSMG → NINER320

Bureaucrat note: Is that in all caps or not? You've indicated lowercase on your talk page. —Anonymous DissidentTalk 13:37, 25 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WTMx → WTM

 Clerk note: Moved from WP:CHU/U. –Juliancolton | Talk 22:44, 25 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Henderikjp → Henderik JP

Clerk note: Moved from WP:CHU/U. Although this appears to be promotional. –Juliancolton | Talk 22:47, 25 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Not done per Julian. Clearly promotional. The Rambling Man (talk) 20:10, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jolo Buki Original → August Dominus

August Dominus is better: barely amount, new, no more difficult words, atractive, easy to remembering, an Croatian Wikipedia I change name, I will and in this...

--Jolo Buki Original (talk) 19:43, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bureaucrat note: Your account has been blocked on two other Wikpedias. Is this rename an attempt to avoid scrutiny? The Rambling Man (talk) 20:07, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, I am on only two Wikipedias: Croatian and English, I abjure of other Wikipedias (German, French, Serbian, Serbo-Croatian). I had more names an Serbian Wikipedia, no advantage any.

--Jolo Buki Original (talk) 20:45, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

And new name no have any relation with my personal name (current have).

Welsh Nationalism Foundation → Siluris

Bureaucrat note: How many people are using your account? Please see WP:NOSHARE. Accounts are for one individual only. Also see WP:COI. If you have a conflict of interest, it is best that you stay away from articles related to the group in question. —Anonymous DissidentTalk 02:35, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • In answer to Bureaucrat, only one person will use the new user-name to conform to your policy. Please advise if this is sufficient to make the change? If so, how is this activated and how will I be notified? On the COI issue, I fully understand and support the need to provide independent evidence for all statements entered and will endeavour to do this. In my defence, I'm new to this process. If I don't, I've no problem with you telling me again! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Welsh Nationalism Foundation (talkcontribs) 18:23, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Clerk note: I've taken the liberty of going out and checking the contributions of Welsh Nationalism Foundation (talk · contribs) in an attempt to check the COI concerns. I see no evidence of the user editing against COI guidelines, so I don't think this should be a major concern (however the editor is encouraged to keep those guidelines in mind while editing). --Shirik (talk) 20:22, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
