XPS Annotator is document management software for Microsoft Windows that allows users to view, annotate, convert, sign and print an XPS documents. License from XPS Annotator is freeware (free for personal, educational, work and business purposes). Software was first created in March 2009 (version 1.0).
The program created by Danang Probo Sayekti of Indonesia, living in Magelang. XPS Annotator only works under Windows XP with Service pack 2 and Windows Server 2003 with Service pack 1 or later Service pack (i.e. Service pack 3) and later operating system from Microsoft like Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 or Windows 7.
XPS Annotator written in C# programming language, using Microsoft Visual Studio Express that causes a dependency on Microsoft .NET Framework (.NET Framework 3.0).
Features
The program is very compact: the installer is less than 550 kB in size. In earlier versions, the installer using the Windows Installer, and from version 1.20 until the present version (version 1.21) using Inno Setup to create the installer.
Key features
- Ability to add annotations to the XML Paper Specification (XPS) documents. There are three options users can add: highlight annotations, text annotations and ink annotations.
- Support for digital signatures.
- Can adding document properties.
- The existence of the converter to convert XPS documents to image files. Currently supports conversion of XPS documents to PNG, JPEG, BMP, GIF and TIFF.
- Ability to print the annotations.
- Support general operations such as zoom, text search, copy and paste.
Missing features
- Can not change the highlight annotations color.
- Can not choose the size and image quality when convert the documents to an image files.
Requirements
- Windows XP with Service pack 2 / Windows Server 2003 with Service pack 1 or later Microsoft operating system (i.e. Windows Vista to Windows 7).
- Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0.
