Description

WikiProject Java is a Wikipedian community that aims to better organize information in articles related to the Java programming language and its platform.

If I'm cor-rec-to, there are about 900 articles on Java technology in Wikipedia, which may be more than ALL other programming languages articles combined...
At least, it's more than for C++, and there IS a C++ WikiProject...
And it's MUCH more than the .NET WikiProject with 82 articles...
There is also a Ruby project and a Python portal so...
Now you can also see a proposal for the Java Portal.

It may be a bit late - but in respect to the enthusiasm - the mainspace page related to the word java has shown up considerable issue over the years with some editors who do not seem to understand that the word relates to an island in Indonesia - I think - in view of the considerable energy expended in the past in trying to ascertain that some editors never knew of the island - but of the programming language - to have a project with a name like this and no actual explanation of qualification - that a hatnote is required in the project

something like - this refers to the programming language - if you are seeking information about the island, language or culture - see the WikiProject Indonesia project - any help in making sure that this goes on the talk page at least should be considered the leat you could do to reduce confusion - thanks Satu Suro 03:54, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
