Overview

This template is used for placing a warning about a user's name on their talk page. It does not need to be SUBSTituted.

It is based on {{uw-username}}, but personalised for one reason (the user name indicating 2 or more people) and without the "Hello and welcome to Wikipedia" intro, along with more details on the reason why this is against policy.

It is intended to be used along with the {{user:phantomsteve/welcome}} template, but works as a stand-alone.

Please note that this template automatically places the user's name in Category:Wikipedian usernames editors have expressed concern over.

Syntax

{{User:Phantomsteve/multi-name[|welcome=<non-blank>]}}

Variables

  • welcome=<non-blank>
    • if present, the "Regards, " will be left off

Examples

Basic use

{{User:Phantomsteve/multi-name}}

I noticed that your username, Phantomsteve/multi-name, may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it appears to be a shared account. On Wikipedia, an account is for a single editor only (see "Sharing accounts"). If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why.
