Pyroraptor (Fire Thief) was a small dromaeosaur that got its name from the fact that it was discovered in a layer of sediment that was burnt, due to a forest fire that probably killed the raptor. This raptor's main enemy was the abelisaur, Tarascosaurus who also lived in southern Europe. Small versions of Pyroraptor were discovered in Romania, which was a chain of small islands in the Late Cretaceous.
