The Wikipedia article show here is a stub. It has a minimal amount of text along with an infobox and a navbox.

Whitespace is space on a Wikipedia that in the final version is not occupied by any characters, templates, or multimedia. In other words, it appears as being white.

Whitespace is not always be desireable. But it is not always preventable.

For example, whitespace cannot easily be avoided when a page, often a stub, contains an infobox) that is quite tall along with a navbox at the bottom, and the amount of text on the page takes up less space than that to the left.

Sometimes, images can contribute to whitespace. But the size of images can be controlled, so if an image is causing there to be a lot of whitespace, it may be worth reducing the size of the image in order to fill more of that space with text.

There are times when a small amount of whitespace may be helpful. When an image just barely exceeds the height of the text it accompanies in a section, adding a few blank lines below that section may allow the next section to start below that image.

There is no actual harm to having whitespace or the lack thereof. But we Wikipedia editors should strive to make our articles as neat and presentable as possible.
