Wikipedia:WikiProject Java/Box scope

WikiProject Java should be a descendent project of WikiProject Computer science and WikiProject Computing (as are WikiProjects C++, Databases, Free Software, Internet, Linux and Macintosh) among others. It will then have the value of uncluttering WikiProject Programming languages... It was born on September 24, 2009.

This WikiProject aims primarily to provide readers of Wikipedia a clear and consistent reference for programming in Java and its platform.

The ultimate goal of this project is to provide a comprehensive guide to Java-related articles on Wikipedia.

"List/Tag/Assess/Write/Maintain", that's our motto here!...

List:
- Identify all existing Wikipedia Java-related articles (with Category:Java platform or a subcategory).
- List Java topics not already covered in Wikipedia articles. (See /List_of_article_requests)
- Expand and format the list of articles accordingly. (See /List_of_articles)
Tag:
- Put the project banner {{WikiProject Java}} on talk pages to make editors aware of the existence of this project.
- Tag the relevant (?) categories and pages with the {{Portal|Java|Wave.svg}} template.
Assess:
- Assess (or reassess) unassessed articles. (See /Assessment)
- Increase article quality towards Start, C, B, A, GA or FA status according to their importance level.
Write:
- Write the listed redlink articles. (See /List_of_article_requests)
- Put an Infobox like {{Infobox software}} in articles where applicable.
Maintain:
- Maintain the WikiProject Java.
- Enhance the Java portal (created on September 27, 2009).
