Road rules in Hong Kong define the use and restrictions for drivers in Hong Kong.

There is no single act governing rules of the road like other jursidictions, but licensing and road maintenance is under the Transport Department and the Highway Department respectively.

There are several motoring laws in effect in Hong Kong:

  • Motor Vehicles Insurance (Third Party Risks) Ordinance Cap 272 (1951) - in regards to use of Third Party Insurance for drivers
  • Road Traffic (Driving-Offence Points) Ordinance Cap 375 (1984) - deals with point system for road use violations
  • Road Traffic Ordinance Cap 374 (1984) - regulation of road traffic and use of vehicles
