Petrus Andreas van Meeuwen
Jhr. Petrus Andreas van Meeuwen (1772 's-Hertogenbosch- 1848 Maastricht) was a important Dutch politician, jurist, member of the House of Representatives, member of council of state of the Netherlands and a nobleman.
Jhr. van Meeuwen grows up in 's-Hertogenbosch in the noble family van Meeuwen. His father Joannis Paulus van Meeuwen had a big brewing company and was chairman of Oss, Lithoyen, Berghem, Heeswijk and Nistelrode. His kinship was A.F.J. baron Prisse. Van Meeuwen has studied jurisprudence in Leiden.
In 1795 on 2 januari was he chairman of oss. In 1803 was he lawyer-CEO of Noord-Brabant, member of Council of State in the Netherlands. In 1809-1811 was he CEO of the Dutch customs. In 1810 was he director-general of Amsterdam, later director-general of noord-Brabant. 1817-1842 was he member of the States-Provincial member of the House of Representatives and member of the parliament for the province Noord-Brabant.
Private
Jhr. van Meeuwen married with Rosa Cornelia Solvijns in Antwerpen in 1800. They have two children one daughter and one boy. The children was born in Wassenaar. Petrus is the father of jhr. Eduardus Johannes Petrus van Meeuwen.
