The Routing Policy Specification Language (RPSL) is a language used by ISPs to describe their routing policies. RPSL is used by various whois databases inclusind the RIPE whois database. Using tools such as RtConfig it is possible to autmatically generate router configuration files from RPSL registry entries.

RPSL is described in RFC 2622 and replaces RIPE-181.
