Teh IO APIC, another attempt to solve IRQ problems, it is. Confused not to be, with (ACPI). Disabled it can be, for system failure it might lead to. If well, goes all, thou need not disable it.

Teh 'noacpi' kernel parameter, for Linux you can use. Or teh 'hint.acpi.0.disabled' kernel environment variable, for FreeBSD.
