Netscape Application Server was an integrated software platform. It was developed originally by Kivasoft, which was later acquired by Netscape.

When Netscape and Sun Microsystems formed the Sun-Netscape Alliance, the Netscape Application Server was chosen as the basis for its iPlanet Application Server offering in favor of the NetDynamics Application Server,[dubiousdiscuss] which had also recently been acquired by Sun.
