Workopolis [1] is Canada's leading online career-solutions provider drawing more than 3 million unique visitors monthly, offering the most posted resumes and twice as many job postings as its nearest competitor[1]. Headquartered in Toronto, Workopolis has offices in eight Canadian cities, including Montreal, Ottawa, Calgary and Vancouver and provides a fully bilingual suite of industry-leading products and services.

History

Formerly globecareers.com, workopolis.com was launched in January 2000, and it claims to be Canada's largest employment-related website offering more than 50,000 jobs daily[citation needed].

Workopolis launched its French version [2] in September 2001. Keeping in character with its English sibling sites, it advertises three times more jobs than any other career site in Quebec.

That same year, Workopolis also added online campus recruitment services with the purchase of campusworklink.com in August 2001. In January 2002, campusworklink.com was migrated to Workopolis technology and in May 2002 was rebranded as workopolisCampus.com [3]. workopolisCampus.com offers more jobs, students, and career centres than any other job site in Canada.

In 2005, BackCheck [4] partnered with Workopolis to offer employers a background checking service that includes criminal background checks, employment reference checks and education verifications.

Workopolis re-launched Workpolis TV in partnership with Business News Network in 2006.

The Workopolis NicheNetwork [5] (formerly Brainhunter), a niche job board business is the latest addition (2008) to the Workopolis family which already includes WorkopolisCampus, CorporateWorks, and Workopolis.com, Canada’s largest job site.

A mobile version of the site was launched in November 2008 which gives access to a reduced feature set over a mobile phone. The mobile service is available in two languages: English [6] and French [7].
