Skin and Bones is a debut album by Flashy Python. There was absolutely no pre-release press for this album. It spontaneously showed up on the band's official website available for streaming of the entire album and also purchasing details for those who wanted to download the album in high-quality mp3, or buy a physical copy on CD or Vinyl.

A couple of the songs have been used previously by Ounsworth in earlier musical endeavors:

Let Us Hallucinate Together was sporadically played by Clap Your Hands Say Yeah at live shows in late 2008 and early 2009. The song appeared on the setlist as "Man at the Bar."

Obscene Queen Bee is actually one of Alec Ounsworth's first songs to be released to the public. Before Clap Your Hands Say Yeah had released their debut album, Ounsworth posted this song (with differing lyrics) as a demo on his MySpace page, entitled as "We Met at the Cemetery." Clap Your Hands Say Yeah would make this song a regular part of their live setlist for their first two years of playing concerts, appearing on the setlist as "My Papa's Waltz." A live version recorded at the BBC was later released on the "In This Home on Ice" single, this time titled as "Cigarettes."
