Wikipedia doesn't need a single new line of code to have reliable, stable, released article versions. All we need is a spine.
- -Validate an article;
- -community needs to codify criteria.
- -community needs to codify mechanism for implementation
- -validation should concern the accuracy, neutrality and basic encycleopdiac format
- (featured status should be a separate rating)
- -Once Validated, protect the page and direct new editing to a /Work_in_Progress page
- -software enhancements can eventually add a Third Tab for this purpose
- -When the WIP page surpasses the released version, then promote. Repeat cycle continuously
Notes:
- Will allow continuous revision and improvement of released articles
- Software can help with both validation and history/attribution management, but isn't necissary
- Eliminates all transitory vandalism of validated pages
- Identifies which parts of the Encyclopedia are reliable for our readers
How to get started
- Pick a page and do it, develope criterial and mechanisms as we go
