The Commission for Religious Relations with Muslims is a commission in the Roman Curia tasked with maintaining positive theological ties with Muslims and Islam.

It works within the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue. Its current leaders are Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran and archbishop Pier Luigi Celata, whose predecessors include Cardinal Paul Poupard and archbishop Pier Luigi Celata.

Organizational issues

On 11 March 2006, Pope Benedict XVI placed the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue under the leadership of the President of the Pontifical Council for Culture, Paul Cardinal Poupard. However, as this was seen as "downgrading" interfaith affairs[1], Pope Benedict again gave the Council its own President in 2007.
