It has been suggested that this article be merged into Standardization of Office Open XML. (Discuss) Proposed since March 2008.

Ecma International submitted ECMA-376 (Office Open XML Standard) to the ISO Fast Track process. In February 2007 there was a first ballot on possible contradictions within the proposed DIS 29500. After this ballot phase was concluded an Intermediate 5 month ballot was initiated.
